ArmorArt™ Has Successful Unveiling at the Spring '08 Central Florida Home & Garden Show Orlando, FL (11 March 2008)
ArmorArt, Inc. had a successful inaugural trade show exhibit the popular Central Florida Home & Garden Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL in early March.
Rupert Meghnot, the company's president, set up on Thursday, March 6th, with a set of dual, single-lite french doors and a couple dozen cabinet doors. ''We only had a 10x10 booth, so we had to keep it light,'' he said. The doors were fiberglass-composite, with ArmorArt™ Decorative Metal & Glass Inserts, and bright-brass hardware.
The inserts were of the Bamboo design (Bamboo Shoot I, Kee Hee Lee-artist, by permission of Bentley Publishing). The inserts are 1'' thick, with 1/8'' clear tempered glass on the exterior, the bamboo design laser-cut out of 16GA steel (and powder-coated Satin Black) in the middle, and textured 3/16'' ''Rain'' glass on the interior. Was it well received? ''It was a huge hit!'' acknowledged Rupert. ''Friday was kind of slow, but Saturday & Sunday were intense!'' Over 1000 people stopped by the booth during the hectic weekend. Nearly one in ten left information for follow-up.
''Though I really wanted to sell the doors on display, we have already had several sales from the show,'' said Rupert. The sales are all for the bamboo door inserts (both replacement doors and replacement inserts). However, many interesting ideas were bantered about.
''One Marilyn Monroe fanatic asked if we could do their bathroom door,'' Rupert said. ''Essentially, we would use the picture of Marilyn, with her dress flying up above the subway grate - you know the one. We would laser-cut that image out of a thin-guage metal, powder-coat it whatever color they want, and stick it to some frosted glass that we would install into their solid door (which we would cut out).'' Sounds like a winner!
''We will be quite busy until the next show in September,'' Rupert said. ''There was a great deal of interest not only in the door inserts, but also our cabinet door inserts and keyless door hardware.'' ArmorArt™ had quite a few metal & glass cabinet doors on hand to show, with several different designs, colors, and types of glass & cabinet doors. Some had the metal behind the glass, ''Ideal for kitchens,'' Rupert mentioned. Others had the metal in front of the glass (''For closets'').
As for the door hardware, ''We use keyless deadbolts, exclusively,'' replied Rupert. ''They are far more secure than regular deadbolts - which can be 'bumped' - and, we would not want anyone to scratch up their beautiful ArmorArt™ doors while fumbling for their keys, now would we?'' Good point, indeed.
We look forward to seeing ArmorArt™ at the next Central Florida Home & Garden Show in September - and on a lot of doors in the Orlando area!
